Welcome to the Edible Art Club: Where Creativity Tastes Good!
Imagine an hour where there are no "wrong" answers, no pressure to be perfect, and your only job is to explore. That is exactly what we have created with the Edible Art Club. Designed specifically for children aged 7–12, our club offers a unique, sensory-rich environment where the kitchen table becomes an artist’s studio.
Every Monday at Ruspidge Memorial Hall, we spend 60 to 90 minutes in a purposefully relaxed and low-pressure atmosphere. I know from personal experience that mainstream environments can sometimes feel overwhelming for children who learn and think differently. That is why our club is different. We don’t use ovens or complicated machinery; instead, we focus on the "no-bake" magic of construction, sculpting, and design. Whether we are building 3D bears out of Rice Krispies, painting intricate patterns on cookies with edible "watercolours," or architectural fruit carving, the focus is always on the process, not just the final product.
The real magic happens in the freedom to create. By treating food as a medium—like clay or paint—children develop incredible fine motor skills and spatial awareness without even realizing they are "learning." They get to touch, smell, and experiment with different food groups, building a positive and curious relationship with what they eat.
More importantly, the Edible Art Club is a confidence-building mission. As a mentor, I am there to guide, not just instruct. Seeing a child go from "I can't do this" to "Look what I made!" is the heart of what I do. We celebrate every misshaped bear and every wonky tower because those are the marks of a child who is brave enough to try something new. In our little corner of Cinderford, we aren’t just making snacks; we are building independent, creative, and confident young people—one masterpiece at a time.
Starts February the 23rd, £16 per session.
